Wow, the weekend FLEW by! I can't believe it's Sunday afternoon already.
Friday night, my hubby and I met my in-laws to take my father-in-law out to dinner for his 79th birthday. The food was really good, and it was great to see everyone and catch up on all the latest.
Saturday morning, I actually got to sleep in (I didn't have to go into work on a Saturday, for once) and that felt great. Tom & I ran errands in the afternoon, and then he made this really tasty beef/pasta dish (he's such a phenomenal cook) with a fresh spinach salad for dinner. Afterward, we headed up the road a few miles to get together with several other couples that we've affectionately dubbed "the river gang" since one of the couples owns 20 acres on the Rifle River about 2 hours north of here, and they invite this "gang" of couples to camp up there, tube on the river with them, etc. We gathered at one couple's house (the ones who own the 20 acres) and they had a nice fire going in the fireplace, and we just talked, ate snacks, and had a really relaxing time.
Today, Tom & I went to church and then Bible Study like we usually do. Worshiping God and hearing His Word always makes for a great start to any week. :-) I definitely see a short nap in my very near future this afternoon. lol
We, too, have been listening and watching the stories regarding the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. How totally awful. Our hearts and prayers go out to all those who have lost so much and/or so many. This type of tragedy certainly makes us thankful for the peace in our lives, and for all that God gives us on a daily basis.
May you all have a peaceful and wonderful week. The first day of spring is next Sunday...our snow will be gone soon...woo hoo!
Yes it was nice to get together on Friday. Have a good week!
