A Little Sun & Warmth

Can you feel it? The warmth from this afternoon's sunshine is inspiring, and it gives me hope that warmer temps are on their way! Woo hoo! Can't wait!

Have you ever had to deal with a cat wearing one of those plastic cones around their head?

Falling Flakes

I had some work to finish up at the church tonight. Arrived there late (10 p.m.?) and didn't finish until midnight, which isn't like me. However, I had other chores to finish at home first (and a nice nap late this afternoon was one of them...lol), and so it just worked out that way. But I digress...

As I was walking out of the church at midnight, I was surprised at just how beautiful the newly-fallen snow was. With a pole lamp in the parking lot giving off a bright glow, the snowflakes were glistening, there were a zillion stars shining in the sky, and the American flag that hangs proudly on a pole near the church entrance doors was fully extended and wavering in the strong breeze coming from the west. Even though I don't care for winter, and the recent cold and snows are most certainly getting on my nerves, it was nice that God took that particular moment to remind me of how beautiful his creation is...ALL of his creation. Thanks, Lord.

And on that note, I'm off to bed.

Initial Thoughts...

I was told by a sister-in-law that I should start a blog, so after some initial research as to what a Blog is and how to start one, I'm off and running. I have no idea if I have enough interesting material to write about, but I figure what the heck? How hard can it be, right? I'll try not to make my Blog too boring. Thanks for the suggestion, Jeanette!  :-)

Tom & I (and Angela and her boyfriend, Doc), recently returned from a week-long trip to the St. Petersburg, Florida area (only our 2nd trip to Florida, the last one being in 1983) and we had a phenomenal time! It was as if the seasons changed right in front of our very eyes! Feb. 13th - 15th saw temps in the high 60's with a chilly breeze coming off the water in the afternoons/evenings. Then from the 16th - 18th, summer suddenly started with temps in the mid to upper 70's, a bit of humidity, some pollen flying around (my allergies alerted me to this fact), and bugs in the air. In any event, we were just glad to be in the warmer temps, and out of the Michigan snow & cold.

While vacationing, Tom came up with an interesting thought: When the tide goes out, where does all that extra water go? We had to look up the answer on Google when we got home. Give it some thought and see if you can guess where the water might go, then look it up on Google to see if you were right!

Well, time for bed. Will write more soon. I hope my friends and family will follow my Blog, comment on it, and help me come up with some interesting ideas for discussions! Nite all!
