Falling Flakes

I had some work to finish up at the church tonight. Arrived there late (10 p.m.?) and didn't finish until midnight, which isn't like me. However, I had other chores to finish at home first (and a nice nap late this afternoon was one of, and so it just worked out that way. But I digress...

As I was walking out of the church at midnight, I was surprised at just how beautiful the newly-fallen snow was. With a pole lamp in the parking lot giving off a bright glow, the snowflakes were glistening, there were a zillion stars shining in the sky, and the American flag that hangs proudly on a pole near the church entrance doors was fully extended and wavering in the strong breeze coming from the west. Even though I don't care for winter, and the recent cold and snows are most certainly getting on my nerves, it was nice that God took that particular moment to remind me of how beautiful his creation is...ALL of his creation. Thanks, Lord.

And on that note, I'm off to bed.
